Анотація
Статтю присвячено аналізу історичних джерел утворення метафор концептополя РУЙНАЦІЯ в сучасній англійській мові, які стали рушійною силою мовотворчої активності носіїв. У межах проведеного дослідження вдалося виділити групи й субкатегорії історичних джерел, провести аналіз механізмів метафоризації досліджуваного екстралінгвістичного явища.
