Анотація
У статті проаналізовано основні комунікативні й функціональні особливості перифраза в англомовній пресі. Перифрази, що функціонують у публіцистичному тексті, передають інформацію, яка є принципово важливою для певного висловлювання, розкриваючи тим самим читачеві ідею автора. Вони найчастіше є способом створення виразності й експресивності публіцистичного тексту.
